Update database on OPNSense

I using the home (paid) version of Zenarmor on OPNSense.

Is the database/signature automaticly updating?

Settings > Privacy > "Check for Zenarmor Signature updates" is on.

Or is database something else as Signature?

  Hi Chiel,

  Both DB and Signature refer to the same thing. Enabling `Check for Zenarmor Signature updates` option is enough.

  Okay. With this setting ZenArmor automaticly update the Signature database? Whitout asking the user for help?

  Chiel, correct. You don't need to do anything. It's all done in the background in a fully automated fashion.

  Today I checked the Zenarmor Database version and it was 17-aug.

  I updated OPNSense and all packages, after that Zenarmor was updated to 1.14.4 and Database version 1.14.23072611 (23-aug).

  The time before, I get a notification in the Zenarmor about a Engine update, after I installed the Engine update I get also the new database version.

  So, it looks like the database/signatures update isn't automaticly... The last 2 times it wasn't automaticly...

  Hi Chiel,

  Thanks for your attention. It is the installed day of the database to the system. Both version was installed with version update. 1.14.3 is released on 17 August and 1.14.4 is on yesterday. It will be updated when a new DB is released automaticaly.

  I don't understand.

  Because I need to install 1.14.3 and 1.14.4 by hand, not automaticly...

  Or this isn't the same as the Signature database? Where can I see and check the version?

  Hi Chiel,

  The releases don't update automatically. You need to install them manually. But mostly, each release has a new application DB as well. So, if you update the Zenarmor release, DB is updating as well. If we publish an Application DB version independently, it is updating automatically. 

  In your case, Your application DB is updated with release 1.14.3 on 17 August and with release 1.14.4 on 23 August. I hope this answers your question.

  Okay. So that’s the application self.
  But that is not the signature database? The signature database is something else and updated automaticly?

  Where can I find the version of the signature database?

  Hi Chiel,

  "Signatures" is the Application DB. There is no addtional Signature Database.
