Zenarmor blocks Youtube Kids even if the policy allows it

Hello there,

Zenarmor 1.17.5
OPNsense 24.7_5

I want to block YouTube only but still allow YouTube Kids.
Check the attached screenshot.
For some reason, if YouTube is blocked, it also blocks YouTube Kids.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

  Hi Ivan,

  Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about the issue.

  YouTube uses the same IPs to stream videos for YouTube and Youtube kids. Especially with the app, it works mostly on IP by using QUIC protocol.

  Thanks for the reply. Ah if they share the same set of IPs to stream the content then in this case it makes no sense to show those separate options in the settings. It just creates some confusion for all of us users :(

  Hi Ivan,

  Actually the current categorization works to report some pet of their traffic. So we need to keep it for reporting. But I will inform documentation team to indicate this point in the documents.

  Hi there,

  this seems to be still unsolved, I could not block youtube while still allowing youtube kids. So these options in the App Controls are misleading. Any news on this how to achieve the goal? Thanks a lot!
