    Can you try again by performing "Reset Reporting Database" from the menu below?

    That's the first thing I tried, and it didn't help any.  I did in fact have to do that after uninstalling with ES5 and then reinstalling with ES8 (and NOT restoring the config) before it would start populating the DB.
